Minimalism in Newborn Photography – Baby Joseph

Let me share with you my newborn philosophy and how simplicity and minimalism play a role in creating my distinctive images. Over the years I found that I love photographing newborns and  capturing them in natural poses, while creating work that will be cherished for a lifetime. However, what I also found is that minimalistic look is what gives my images a timeless quality.

What is Minimalism?

It is marked by clarity, purpose, and intentionality. At its core, minimalism is the intentional promotion of the things we most value and the removal of everything that distracts us from it.

Say ‘hello’ to Baby Joseph! This ‘little’ guy came into the world weighing just over seven pounds and was such a treat to photograph.

“Simplicity, clarity, singleness: These are the attributes that give our lives power and vividness and joy as they are also the marks of great art.” —Richard Holloway

Simple yet beautiful

I aim to produce newborn portraiture that I am passionate about. In other words, I want to really focus on my subjects and create art that makes me feel something. I have always loved minimalistic design. So I have known that I want to create work that is both beautiful and simple.

All About the Baby

I find having such simple setups makes my sessions go more smoothly. Moreover, it keeps my work cohesive and makes the photos all about the baby.

Thinking about booking your newborn/sibling photography session? It’s never too early! Newborn sessions take place within 5-14 days after baby’s birth and my calendar is filling up. Therefore, it is suggested that you book your newborn photographer at the beginning of your second trimester to guarantee room on the calendar around your estimated due date.

Thanks xxx
